The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens

The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens is a nonprofit, accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, ensuring the highest standards of all aspects of animal care, education, conservation, public service, and operations. Palm Springs Air Museum

There is always something new at the Palm Springs Air Museum, where history comes alive and visitors can get close to the vintage World War II and Korea/Vietnam era aircraft. Named in 2014 as one of the top 14 aviation museums in the world by CNN Travel, 59 flyable and static planes are on display inside four climate-controlled hangars totaling 86,000 square feet inside with more outside on the tarmac.

Cabazon Dinosaurs

Cabazon Dinosaurs, formerly Claude Bell`s Dinosaurs, is a roadside attraction in Cabazon, California, featuring two enormous, steel-and-concrete dinosaurs named Dinny the Dinosaur and Mr. Rex. Located just west of Palm Springs, the 150-foot-long Brontosaurus and the 65-foot-tall Tyrannosaurus rex are visible from the freeway to travelers passing by on Southern California`s Interstate 10. The roadside dinosaurs are best known for their appearance in the film Pee-wee`s Big Adventure.

Palm Springs Villagefest

VillageFest takes place in downtown Palm Springs on Palm Canyon Drive every Thursday night. The street is closed to vehicular traffic and is transformed into a festive, pedestrian street fair. The perimeter of the event consists of Indian Canyon Drive to the east and Belardo Road to the west. Vendor booths are set up on both sides of the street, and visitors are able to stroll through the traffic-free event.

Palm Springs Windmill Tours

The Palm Springs Windmill Tours is the only renewable energy wind farm tour that is endorsed by the Desert Wind Energy Association. Their tour will take you behind the fences onto their private grounds where no other tour will go. The tour starts at their tour headquarters where you will be given an overview of renewable wind energy, a history of our windmills since the inception in 1982 to today. Next, a private luxury bus takes you on the tour of the farms off property and ends with a free date shake at the Windmill Cafe. The windmills are an iconic feature of the area and is educational and fun for the entire family. The entire tour stops a few times where you can get up close to a windmill to see the majestic size and drives up to a vista.

City of Palm Desert Civic Center Park

The City`s recreational showpiece that serves as a popular gathering place for a wide array of public activities and events including summer and fall concerts, the City`s annual Veterans Day and Fourth of July celebrations, and much more. The 70-acre park includes the following amenities: Four baseball fields, concession/restroom building, six tennis courts with two pickleball-only courts, four volleyball courts, three basketball courts, five picnic pavilions, rose garden, public art, amphitheater, skate park, playground, dog park, and walking paths. Practice your backslide or ollie or just have a good time in Palm Desert`s only skateboard park. Get a DRD Fun Pass at the Palm Desert Community Center for only $5 a year. Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway - the world`s largest rotating tram car - travels over two-and-one-half miles along the breathtaking cliffs of Chino Canyon, transporting riders to the pristine wilderness of the Mt. Marilyn Monroe`s connection to Palm Springs is legendary. In 1949, at age 22, Marilyn was "discovered" in Palm Springs at Charlie Farrell`s Racquet Club by William Morris talent agent, Johnny Hyde. Many famous photos of Marilyn were taken around the Racquet Club`s swimming pool. In the 195O`s, she was a regular visitor to Palm Springs with her second husband, baseball great Joe DiMaggio. Marilyn Monroe loved Palm Springs and the presence of Forever Marilyn is a true homecoming.
