Palm Springs Dog Park

The Palm Springs Dog Park is located behind City Hall in the city of Palm Springs, CA. The Palm Springs Dog Park consists of 1.6 acres of fenced-in rolling grass with fire hydrants, dual purpose canine/human drinking fountains, picnic tables and benches made from recycled materials, solar lighting and shade structures. Dogs run and play leash-free; park never closes. Separate play area for small dogs.

Moorten Botanical Garden & Cactarium

Leashed dogs are welcome to join you while you visit Moorten Botanical Garden & Cactarium. This historic botanical garden opened in 1938 and features several rare cacti. There is also a gift shop.

Mission Creek Preserve

Located in a transition zone between the Sonoran and Mojave deserts, the 4,760 acre Mission Creek Preserve has a rich species composition, with flora and fauna representing both deserts. Visitors are surprised to discover the center of the preserve is a lush wetlands juxtaposed with extensively eroded painted hills and Mount San Gorgonio looming in the background. The wetlands and perennial stream are important habitat for the endangered least Bell`s vireo and southwestern willow flycatcher. The preserve hosts deer, bear, big horn sheep and mountain lions and has spectacular displays of spring wildflowers in wet years. The preserve trail system leads onto the Pacific Crest Trail which is two miles from the stone house group campground.

Whitewater Preserve

Whitewater Preserve is 2,851 acres surrounded by the Bureau of Land Management`s San Gorgonio Wilderness, and includes the year-round Whitewater River. Rich riparian habitat hosts the endangered Southwest willow flycatcher and Bell`s vireo, and provides opportunity to see migrating summer tanagers and vermilion flycatchers. The canyon has a robust population of bighorn sheep, deer and bear, and is an important wildlife corridor between the San Bernardino and San Jacinto Mountains.

Cove Oasis trailhead

Discover the natural beauty of La Quinta at the Cove Oasis trail network, tucked away at the top of the La Quinta Cove. Two short, flat trails take you and your four-legged hiking buddy from the parking lot to the Cove Oasis, making this one of the easier options for a quick jaunt into the desert`s beauty. Dogs are also welcome to join you on the trail between the Boo Hoff and Bear Creek trailheads but cannot go past these landmarks. Leashes are a must when exploring La Quinta Cove Oasis.

Years before you heard about Stuft Pizza as one of the best restaurants in Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert or La Quinta, an entrepreneur named Jack Bertram and his wife, Pat, opened the first Stuft Pizza in Cerritos, California, in 1976. Before opening the store Jack experimented for close to 9 months, developing the recipe for the delicious pizza we have today. Although the small store did only pizza and was take-out only, its emphasis on the highest quality product led to its success. Jack and Pat opened their second store two years later in Whittier. The original over-the-counter concept kept growing, and in 1986, Stuft Pizza became a franchise. Unlike the franchisee owned stores, which can be found outside the Coachella Valley, both Stuft Pizza Bar & Grill locations in the desert are unique. The Bertram Family owns and operates both the Old Town La Quinta and Westfield Palm Desert restaurants. We are proud to be a staple in the desert since 2004 in La Quinta and 2014 in Palm Desert. We have an expanded menu, full bar, full service, HD tv`s for our sports fans and an amazing wine list. The idea was to take the original "pizzeria" and put a fun spin on it. The founders of Nitroinfusions, Nancy and Sebastian Prieto, started seven years ago in Old Town, La Quinta, C.A.? We were looking to open an ice cream store in the US using Sebastian`s grandfather`s recipes to create organic, fresh ice cream but didn`t want the typical "scoop and serve" style. We starting researching and found a chemistry teacher on YouTube who was teaching students how to make ice cream using Liquid Nitrogen, what a great idea!! So we started finding our ingredients, experimenting using the Liquid Nitrogen and found by using this method our ice cream was supreme. Why do we use Liquid nitrogen (-321degrees)? Because this allows us to freeze ice cream to order, creating less ice particles and no air which results in a smoother, creamier ice cream. The base of our ice cream is 100% Organic with no preservatives, no additives and we use local fresh ingredients to create our flavors.
