California Travel Restrictions (Updated December 10, 2020)


On December 6, 2020 the Governor’s regional stay at home order for the Southern California Region went into effect at 11:59 p.m. and will be in place for a minimum of three weeks. A link to the order is provided below.

How does the Regional Stay at Home Order impact travel?

In-State Travel is restricted. While the Regional Stay at Home order is in effect in a region, vacation rental operators can offer accommodation only for COVID-19 mitigation and containment measures, treatment measures, accommodation for essential workers, or providing housing solutions, including measures to protect homeless populations. Vacation rental owners/agencies will be asked to verify that in-state reservations are permissible under the exceptions stated herein when entering their contract summaries.
 
Out-of-State Travel is restricted. While the Regional Stay at Home order is in effect in a region, no vacation rental operator in California shall accept or honor out of state reservations for non-essential travel, unless the reservation is for at least the minimum time required for quarantine (14 days) and the persons identified in the reservation will quarantine until after the time period has expired. As with in-state travelers, vacation rental operators can also offer accommodation to out-of-state travelers for COVID-19 mitigation and containment measures, treatment measures, accommodation for essential workers, or providing housing solutions, including measures to protect homeless populations. Vacation rental owners/agencies will be asked to verify that out-of-state reservations are permissible under the exceptions stated herein when entering their contract summaries.

What extra steps are you taking during Covid 19?

On May 28, 2020 Riverside County released Safe Reopening Guidelines for Short-Term Vacation Rentals. Under the Guidelines provided, Short-Term Rentals may resume operations immediately for non COVID-19 related use. After review and implementation of those guidelines and in compliance with all city ordinances the following has been encouraged and or required. We have decided to implement all safety precautions listed below:
 
  • Contactless check-in, keyless entry to limit contact with guests.
  • A 24-hour gap between rental reservations, guest departure and new guest arrival.
  • Complete a deep cleaning after each rental, using cleaning products and protocols that meet with CDC guidelines.
  • All team members, housekeepers or vendors are always to wear face masks and gloves while servicing the property.
  • A professional disinfection cleaning is practiced after deep cleaning, where all surfaces are wiped down with disinfecting products after a deep cleaning was performed.
  • All linen is cleaned at high temperatures at the property and handled with the proper face covering, gloves and sanitizing product and practices.
  • No entry is allowed for 3 hours in between visits by guests, owner, vendors or team members.
  • Proper signage is posted at each property informing guest of city, county and state health orders.

How do I book a home?

Is booking online secure?
 
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order. We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our payment gateway providers database. It will only be accessible by those authorized with special rights to such systems. They are required to keep the information confidential. After a transaction, your private information (credit cards, social security numbers, financials, etc.) will not be stored on our servers.

Can I bring my pet with me?

We offer several pet-friendly homes. To see if the home you're interested in allows pets, you can click on the "Vacation Rentals" tab above and find the property listing, or you can call us at (760) 800-3149 and talk to one of our vacation rental specialist. We can help you determine if the home you're interested in is pet-friendly, or help you find the perfect fit for you and your pet.

What are the benefits of a vacation home rental?

Our vacation homes are stocked in such a way that you always feel like you are coming "home" to your vacation home, rather than returning to a small hotel room. All of our homes have pools, full kitchens, living areas and BBQ grills, and some homes offer game rooms or a hot tub. You will be able to enjoy a full-service home while you are on vacation rather than a small hotel room.

Should I purchase travel insurance? What does travel insurance cover?

Purchasing travel insurance is recommended. We offer travel insurance through a third party provider, Rental Guardian. For more information on travel insurance through Rental Guardian go to beachcombervaca.rentalguardian.com

What is provided for guest use in each home? Do we need to bring linens/towels, toilet paper, etc?

We provide sheets, pillows, blankets, towels, kitchen towels, tissue, toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, dish soap, and laundry soap for guest use. Every home is equipped for our guests to simply walk in and make themselves at home. The only items you will need to bring is clothing and any personal toiletries (toothbrush/paste, shampoo).

Will we need to clean the house before we leave?

Poolside Vacation Rentals Inc. takes care of cleaning after your stay. The only things we ask our guests to do before they leave is to take out the garbage/recycling and to please load and start the dishwasher. There is no need to wait and put the dishes away once they're clean. Please do not strip the beds or start any laundry before you leave.

What are your office hours?

Poolside Vacation Rentals Inc. is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

What time is check-in/out?

Check-in time is as early as 3:00 PM. Check-out time is 10:00 AM.

What kind of deposit is due on booking?

For reservations received more than 30 days prior to the arrival date, 50% of the total amount is due. The balance is due 30 days from the arrival date. Deposits not paid within ten days risk cancellation.  Any damage to home, carpet, damage done by pets, or breach of the rental agreement can result in extra charges. If you paid for your reservation with a credit card, we will hold your credit card number as a deposit.

What is your cancellation policy?

Should guest wish to cancel their reservation, the notice of cancellation must be in writing.  Guest is responsible to verify receipt/confirmation of the cancellation in writing from Agency.
  • For notice received more than ninety (90) days prior to the check-in date, Agency will refund 100% of payments received, less 10% of the rental and tax amounts.
  • For notice received between forty-five (45) days and ninety (90) days prior to check-in date, Agency will refund 100% of payments received, less 25% of the rental and tax amounts.
  • For notice received less than forty-five (45) days prior to check-in date, Guest will be liable for 100% of the contracted amount and tax, less cleaning fees and Vacation Rental Damage Protection.

How old do I have to be to rent your homes?

The registered guest must be 25 years of age or older. 30 years of age or older in the city of Rancho Mirage. Subletting of a rental home is prohibited.

What is included with the home?

Each home is privately owned, so some amenities vary.  However, homes will have at a minimum kitchen cooking utensils, plates, and silverware, coffee makers, linens and towels are provided. Poolside Vacation Rentals provides a starter of hand and dishwasher soap, toilet paper, tissue, and garbage bags. Guest(s) provides personal items, all edibles (this includes condiments and spices) and foil or saran wrap.

What if something in the home doesn't work or is broken?

Just call the front desk and let us know. While equipment function cannot be 100% guaranteed, repairs to malfunctioning equipment will be done as soon as possible. Poolside Vacation Rentals Inc. will attempt to fix problems in a timely manner, within our means.

What about housekeeping services?

Poolside Vacation Rentals has your home cleaned prior to your arrival and again after you leave. If you have any concerns, please call our office and we will be happy to help.

What is asked of the Guest upon departure?

Each property will be inspected, sanitized, and cleaned prior to your arrival and after your departure. Guest should leave the property in the same general condition that they found the home at check-in, meaning:

a) Any debris, rubbish, and discards removed from the home
b) Cooking messes cleaned up and dishwasher started
c) Furniture (or items that have been rearranged) replaced, both inside and outside the home
d) All remote controls left in plain sight
e) Used towels placed in bathtub or shower
f) Refrigerator left free of perishable food
g) Lights, heater, air conditioner, fans, appliances, etc turned off
h) All doors and windows closed and locked
i) If so equipped, keys, garage openers, and parking passes left on the kitchen counter
j) If so equipped, keys returned to the lock-box

What if we lose a personal item?

We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please make sure you do not leave anything behind. We do have lost and found items and will hold your items for 30 days. After this time period the items will be discarded.

What if You lose a key?

A $25 per item fee will be charged for each lost key and $75 for each garage door opener and remote control that is damaged or not left at the property upon check-out.

Can we have an extra person (or children) sleep on the floor in sleeping bags?

Only the number of people stated in the description of the property and on the postings in the home are permitted to sleep in the home. .

Can we bring our pets?

Please be sure to honor the pet policies in the description of the property as there are homeowners that are highly allergic to pets. Pets in a non-pet home are considered a breach of the rental agreement. Pet-doo must be removed to the proper containers. Pets must be on leashes or in carriers and should not disturb neighboring homes.

Can we smoke?

All of our homes are non-smoking. Smoking of cigarettes, cigars, pipes or other substances on or along any road, drive, lane (except within an enclosed motor vehicle), pathway, trail or any owned property is prohibited unless specifically permitted by signage 

Where can I park?

In the city of Palm Springs, one vehicle is allowed on the property per bedroom count. The city of Rancho Mirage, regardless of property size, allows a total of three vehicles.  Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and Rancho Mirage do not allow street parking at any time. Please park your vehicle(s) in the driveway or inside the garage.

Do the homes have cable?

Most of our homes at least have a basic cable package, but for any homes that do not, they are required to have at least a smart tv and or DVD player. For any questions on a specific property, feel free to give us a call.

Is high-speed Internet available?

We do have High-Speed WiFi in all of our homes. Look in the property description for details. Is there a BBQ?

Gas BBQs, along with propane, are provided with all of our homes. Charcoal BBQs are not permitted because of fire danger.

Anything else I should know?

Poolside Vacation Rentals is not responsible for events out of our control, such as natural or man-made disaster, an electrical blackout, loss of telephone service/internet, and no refunds will be given. Home rates, specials, nightly minimums, and descriptions are subject to change. Firearms and fireworks are not permitted. Cleaning fees are non-refundable. Other restrictions may apply.
